Developing Self Esteem

To enable delegates to identify and empower their self esteem in their lives

Assertiveness and Communication Skills

To enable delegates to identify and improve their own assertive behaviour 

The objectives of being assertive are:-

  • Achieving honest and direct communication
  • To respect the rights of all parties
  • Use relevant resources in an appropriate way.

The assertiveness programme is delivered on a one day basis 9.30 am – 4pm.

Effective and Confident Presentations

 

To enable those who have to make presentations gain confidence in the process

 

The objectives are:

  • To be able to set and meet clear objectives in making a presentation / public speaking.

  • To plan and structure a presentation so that it meets the needs and expectations of the targeted audience.

  • To develop delivery and style techniques which will motivate the audience to take action.

 

Programme and Structure

The programme is delivered on a one day basis 9.30 am – 4pm.

 

What the programme consists of:- 

  • Self assessment analysis

  • How to overcome nervousness and present confidently.

  • How to engage with your audience.

  • Planning and preparation sessions using participants' own material. This will include how to structure the presentation, timing, and techniques to help obtain audience commitment

  • Practicing presentations and receiving feedback.

  • Practice of using facilities to enhance the presentations.

 


Stress Management

To enable delegates to Identify and cope proactively with stress in their work place and lives.

The objectives of the Stress course are:-

  • Explore and gain a comprehensive understanding of stress
  • Identify how stress affects us
  • Build defences against stress
  • Adopt Self help strategies
  • Use Stress in a positive and pro active way

 

Programme and Structure

The stress management programme is delivered on a one day basis 9.30 am – 4pm

It can also be delivered in 2 x ½ day sessions.

Coaching Essentials

This 1 -day introduction to coaching provides a taster course and CPD (Continual Professional Development) event for anyone interested in coaching.  This is a practical course that both explains and demonstrates the key skills and competencies to enable the start of your coaching career.  The course covers:

  • Understanding Coaching
  • Who Needs Coaching?
  • What Makes a Professional Coach - The Key Skills and Competencies
  • Coaching Models
  • Powerful Goal Setting

The course provides a solid platform to anyone starting out coaching and wishing to develop their skills, capabilities and confidence in the coaching process.

 


Coaching Skills Award

This course is endorsed by Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).  It is delivered directly by Business Works, an approved centre for the ILM

Aimed at those who wish to train in LIFE COACHING  The course is focused entirely at Coaching Skills and is ideal for anyone wanting to provide Life Coaching

Programme Structure

The course requires a completion of 25 guided learning hours.  This includes 22 hours of workshops and seminars plus 3 hours of personal coaching. The workshops are usually delivered over a period of 2 - 3 months at weekends to fit with those who are working full-time elsewhere.  There is also a requirement for the endorsed certificate from ILM to complete a number of assessments.  If the course is taken on the non ILM endorsed route it consists of the workshop sessions only and there is no assessment. 

 

 Candidates can expect a learning time of 45 – 50 hours split between supported home based study and attending the workshops and seminars.

  • Understanding Coaching

  • Coaching Ethics

  • Coaching Models and Creating Structure

  • The Basic Skills of Coaching 

  • The Confident Coach

  • Empathy

  • Overcoming Resistance to Change

  • Maintaining Action

  • Personal Planning and Time Management

  • Planning and Preparing a Coaching Session 

  • Coaching by Telephone

 

Each of the sessions is run on a very interactive and participative basis.  You get plenty of time to practice in the workshop with your fellow trainees so that when you start to coach others you are already confident and sure of yourself.

 

Personal Coaching Support

You will be assigned your own LIFE COACH who will provide 3 hours of telephone coaching to support personal learning and to allow you as a new coach to experience coaching for yourself.  During this time you will experience the use of many of the tools and techniques for yourself and gain a deeper understanding of the coaching experience.

Additional Life Coaching can be purchased separately if required.

 All Business Works courses are externally accredited or endorsed which requires us to meet strict quality assurance guidelines including course content as well as the qualifications and competence of our tutors and assessors
